ITU standard for high dynamic range promises better TV pictures
The ITU has announced a new standard for High Dynamic Range (SDR) television saying it represents a major advance in television broadcasting. “HDR brings an incredible feeling of realism, building further on the superior color fidelity of ITU’s Ultra-High Definition Television (UHDTV) Recommendation BT.2020,” ITU said. China finalizes world’s largest radio telescope
Chinese state media reported that China has fitted the final piece on what will be the world’s largest radio telescope, which is said to be operational by September this year. The Aperture Spherical Telescope, otherwise known as FAST, is 500m-wide – the size of 30 football fields.
